What You Will Find

Among the chronological themes displayed in the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the first, covering 1890 to 1910, focuses on his upbringing, hometown, and youth. The second theme highlights the next ten years, during which Ho Chi Minh traveled the world seeking a way to liberate Vietnam from colonial rule.

The following three themes, spanning 1920 to 1945, explore how Ho Chi Minh incorporated Marxist and Leninist ideals into the Vietnamese Communist Party and the struggle for national independence.

From 1945 to 1969, themes six and seven depict the national hero primarily through his political life until his death.

Directly opposite the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi, there is a local market in a small alley visible from the museum entrance. If you want to escape the tourist crowds, head to the market. You will find plenty of affordable food options, including the famous Pho (Vietnamese noodles), Che (Vietnamese pudding), baguettes, and other local delicacies.
