If you’re planning your next trip to Jordan and are thinking about staying connected to the internet, you have three options: 1) connect to Wi-Fi at hotels and restaurants, 2) get a local SIM card with a data plan (which we usually recommend), or 3) purchase and install the Holafly Jordan eSIM before you arrive. Here’s everything you need to know. Let’s go!
We used to always recommend using a local SIM card in any country as it was cheaper than the physical SIM cards available online. However, the eSIM option has become very appealing.
The key reason for this shift is that eSIMs now offer unlimited data (though not yet available in all destinations, but it’s gradually being rolled out), making this option much more attractive and a more justified price.
With the Jordan eSIM, you don’t need a physical SIM card to access the internet. Instead, you install a virtual card on your phone for unlimited data. Purchase the eSIM, set up your phone automatically, and as soon as you arrive, your smartphone will connect to the internet.
Starting today, you can get a Holafly discount code on your international Jordan eSIM and save money on your purchase. The link above provides general information about Holafly, but the button below will take you directly to the discount for your eSIM purchase.
NOTE: If the discount doesn’t apply automatically (which is very rare), use this discount code: CONMOCHILA.
In Jordan, there are three telecom companies: Zain, Umniah, and Orange. We chose Orange, as they typically have stores in most areas.
If you opt for a local SIM, you’ll need to find a store, bring your passport, and purchase the SIM card. Activation might take some time. Ours took 4 hours. After which you’ll have 5G connectivity.
We found an Orange store in Amman, which was fortunately not too far from our hotel.
Official Rates:
Additionally, aside from these standard rates from their website, you can visit a store and inquire about available plans. We managed to get a special offer of 500 GB for 25 JD for 30 days. Yes, 500 GB!
