Thailand Weather in February. Information for your trip

Much of the north of the country, such as Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai, is likely to be cool and dry, with little chance of rain. These favorable weather conditions make February an ideal month for travel to Thailand and outdoor activities in the north, and provides a break from the heat further south.

A drier environment can also occur in Bangkok, although temperatures will be warmer than in the north due in part to the city’s lower altitude.

In the dry south, sunny weather will be commonplace, with plenty of blue skies, little chance of rain, and average daily temperatures of 26-31°C.

During February, temperatures rise slightly in central Thailand, with Bangkok’s average high being 32°C and lows of 23°C. Bangkok experiences one or two days of rain during February, but the average for the month is only 20 mm.

The north and south of the country remain very dry during February, and the northern hills can be very cold at night. The southern coasts and accompanying islands have the best of February weather, with temperatures well above 30°C every day, plenty of sunshine and very little chance of rain.
