Thanh Toan Covered Bridge is a pedestrian bridge located 7 km from Hue. Built in 1776 with funds granted by Mrs. Tran Thi Dao, it became very important for the villagers of that time, as it allowed them to cross the canal to transport crops and goods they brought to trade in this popular city in Vietnam.
It is possible to reach the bridge by bike or motorbike along a beautiful rural road, surrounded by rice fields and canals. Something that is always appreciated is getting out of the city for a while and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Thanh Toan Covered Bridge is made of wood, has an arched shape, and measures 17 meters long by 4 meters wide. Inside and on both sides, there are two rows of benches where people can stop and rest in the shade.
After several storms and conflicts that damaged Thanh Toan Bridge, the locals always helped to repair it. Moreover, as a sign of gratitude, there is a small altar in the center of the bridge, where homage and worship are paid to Mrs. Tran Thi Dao, the architect of its construction.
The tube-shaped tiles on the roof and its unique decorations give the bridge style and personality. It’s no wonder that in 1991, the Ministry of Culture of Vietnam granted it the distinction of a national monument for its beauty.
