This city is a fantastic place to spend a couple of days discovering the complex of monuments that have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We arrived at the end of the year, ready to visit its most iconic spots and, incidentally, looking for a place with some atmosphere to celebrate New Year&#8217;s Eve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the end, we spent an entire week there. The city experiences two main seasons: the rainy season and the dry season. Planning your trip around these seasons will help you make the most of your visit to this Vietnamese city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dry Season (February to August):<\/strong> These months tend to be hot and dry, with maximum temperatures exceeding 35\u00b0C between May and June. Minimum temperatures range between 24\u00b0C and 28\u00b0C, so it will be quite warm with low humidity due to significantly decreased rainfall.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rainy Season (September to January):<\/strong> Heavy rainfall and high humidity characterize Hue during this season, due to the monsoon rains. Temperatures are generally cooler than during the dry season, with highs of 25-30\u00b0C and lows of 19-23\u00b0C.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading margin-top-0\" id=\"h-visa-to-travel-to-vietnam\">Visa to Travel to Vietnam<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, and until further notice from Vietnamese authorities, citizens of 25 countries can travel to Vietnam without having to apply for a visa. It features a 10 km perimeter wall with a width of 2 meters, surrounded by a 30-meter-wide moat. There are 10 gates to access the enclosure, which can be reached by crossing a bridge over the moat.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1400\" height=\"933\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conmochila.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2024\/12\/GUIA-HUE-CIUDADELA.jpg\" alt=\"Citadel\" class=\"wp-image-4615\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conmochila.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2024\/12\/GUIA-HUE-CIUDADELA.jpg 1400w, https:\/\/www.conmochila.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2024\/12\/GUIA-HUE-CIUDADELA-700x467.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1400px) 100vw, 1400px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Citadel<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Once inside, we found various buildings such as the Thai Hoa Palace, lakes and gardens, as well as temples like To Mieu and Hung Mieu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-imperial-tombs\">Imperial Tombs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To the southeast of the Citadel, on both banks of the Perfume River, lie the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conmochila.com\/en\/the-imperial-tombs-of-hue-on-the-banks-of-the-perfume-river\/\">Imperial Tombs of Hue<\/a><\/strong>, monuments dedicated to the rulers of the Nguyen dynasty, including Minh Mang, Khai Dinh, and Tu Doc. Legends aside, this river plays a crucial role in the city. Taking a walk or a tour on one of the traditional boats can be a lovely way to relax while seeing some of the imperial tombs or pagodas, such as the Thien Mu Pagoda.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1400\" height=\"930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conmochila.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2024\/12\/GUIA-HUE-RIO-PERFUME.jpg\" alt=\"Perfume River\" class=\"wp-image-4613\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Perfume River<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Visit one of the docks or agencies in the area and inquire about boat trips.
