If you choose this route, you&#8217;ll need to rent a motorbike first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also visit from Hanoi by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/hanoi-l205\/1-day-hoa-lu-tam-coc-tour-from-hanoi-t27339\/?partner_id=ORA5DUX&amp;utm_medium=online_publisher&amp;cmp=EN-post-hoa-lu-citadel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">booking an excursion to Hoa Lu and Tam Coc<\/a><\/strong>, or if you&#8217;re already in Tam Coc, you can <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.civitatis.com\/es\/tam-coc\/hoa-lu-mua-cave-van-long\/?aid=2134&amp;cmp=post-EN-hoa-lu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">book a tour that includes Hoa Lu, Mua Cave, and sailing along the Ngo Dong River<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"our-visit\">Our Visit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We arrived on our motorbike after having lunch in Ninh Binh. After visiting <strong>Tam Coc<\/strong> and the <strong>Bich Dong Temple<\/strong>, we were hungry and a bit tired, so we took a break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual, people at the entrance tried to charge us for parking the motorbike, but we left it in front of a food and drink stand whose owner said we could park there for free, so long as we bought some drinks on our way out, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The entrance to the citadel is completely new, including both the bridge that crosses the Ye Ngua River and the arch that welcomes you. This monument serves as a reminder of his pivotal role in the nation&#8217;s history, and its presence in Hoa Lu underscores the site\u2019s importance as the cradle of early Vietnamese dynasties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-village\">The Village<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a small area where no more than 100 people lived. A beautiful entrance arch marked the esplanade of the housing area, with all the homes being modest and harmoniously integrated into the landscape. It is surrounded by a breathtaking landscape of karst mountains, meandering rivers, and rice fields, adding a special charm to the area. This pillar bears Buddhist inscriptions in Sanskrit and is considered a significant historical and religious artifact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"more-temples\">More Temples<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As you stroll through the village, you&#8217;ll discover more temples scattered throughout the area.
